IBS signs major deals in Europe

IBS has recently signed contracts with two major European companies for IBS' Internet-integrated business software, ASW. The total value amounts to some $7 million.
"In both these cases, the customers are reluctant to have their names mentioned, for reasons of competition," says Staffan Ahlberg, CEO of IBS AB. This is an interesting trend, which mirrors the importance many business executives give to their strategic investments in electronic commerce, integrated supply chain operations and after-market service. Basically, they do not want to let their competitors know what is going on.
One of the contracts covers systems for e-business, customer relations and after-market service for one of Europe's leading electronics suppliers. The system will have some 1,200 users in more than 30 European cities. IBS will also be responsible for hosting the system, through a so-called ASP agreement.
IBS has also signed a contract with one of the world's leading suppliers of office equipment, for installing ASW in their European network of subsidiaries. The company, which operates in 13 countries, is aiming to increase sales through e-business, improved customer service and more efficient logistics processes.
We are seeing a growing number of deals in this field of business, and our schedule is full of product demos and new projects. Because the purchase process takes some 3-6 months, we do not expect sales to have a major impact on revenue until the second half of the year, says Staffan Ahlberg.
