IBS US announces partnership with Manitowoc Beverage Systems (MBS) for implementation of supply chain management software
Software System To Unify Manitowoc Beverage Systems Distribution Management Software
International Business Systems (IBS), the world leader of Demand Driven Supply Chain Software for the IBM iSeries (AS/400), and Manitowoc Beverage Systems (MBS), an international distributor of beverage parts, components, and dispensing equipment, announced today the signing of a licensing agreement for the implementation of IBS software. With six customer response centers, MBS is an industry leader in the distribution of components and equipment to the beverage industry. Under the terms of the agreement, IBS will provide a single software package incorporating all the necessary modules to enhance MBS' distribution management capabilities.
"MBS was formed through the acquisition of four privately held regional distributors," said Fred Lowstetter, Corporate Controller for MBS. "Combining four regional distributors on the West Coast, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast regions, created a specific need for one fully integrated suite of systems that would operate on an international level and establish Y2K compliance."
"Because we desire to forge ahead with operations running as smoothly as possible, it is necessary to select a flexible system that would be implemented quickly," commented Lowstetter. "The partnership between MBS and IBS will satisfy our need for a technology advantage for continued growth."
MBS exemplifies the continuing pattern of successful distributors merging to attain higher levels of market share. The partnership between MBS and IBS serves as a strategic opportunity to demonstrate not only the robust functionality of a system to manage their logistics chain, but also one that is implemented in a time-conservative manner. "As MBS continues our rapid expansion plan, it is essential that future locations assimilate quickly into our business process and information systems, said John Barber, Executive Vice President and General Manager at MBS.
In making its decision, MBS appreciated the amount of resources IBS has available including a domestic consulting group for implementation and customer service programs. IBS marches ahead of the competition through innovative features in e-Commerce such as the Internet Connection Manager module. These services, combined with an international presence and a long history of experience in implementing distribution management systems abroad, led MBS to select a system they believed would carry them well into the new millennium. As the leader in wholesale distribution software, IBS consistently aims to answer the challenge of providing rapid-growth companies such as MBS with software that serves as a competitive tool for improved business processes.
