IBS announces annual client symposium and Users' Group Meeting
Press Release Feb 10, 1999
Conference addresses key impacts of the wholesale distribution industry
International Business Systems-United States (IBS US), the worldwide leader of wholesale distribution software for the IBM iSeries (AS/400), announced Discover '99, its Annual Client Symposium to be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Sacramento, California on April 19-22. Each year, the conference unites IBS customers, industry consultants, technology partners, and media groups from around the world for an event which serves as an educational tool and training platform.
This year's Symposium has been expanded to three days and features sessions in five different areas including: Executive, Business Intelligence and Finance, Inventory and Logistics Management, Technical and customer service Management.
Noted wholesale industry consultants, Michael Marks and Bruce Merrifield, will present focused sessions on current trends in wholesale distribution and how distributors can improve the operational standards of their business environment. Additionally, Marks and Merrifield will present keynote sessions which highlight supply chain integration and the surging momentum toward electronic commerce.
The Symposium provides an opportunity for IBS software users to learn how to receive the full benefit of their application features. Attendees will receive valuable information from top industry consultants, IBS product experts and other users.
"Discover '99 is a great forum for user interaction," noted Barry Christian, president of IBS. "Users get together and exchange ideas about how they've used IBS software to do business more efficiently, profitably and competitively."
The Symposium offers overview and in-depth sessions that are suitable for a broad range of conference participants. Topics include executive-level workshops for management, product-specific workshops for experienced ASW users, introductory training, hands-on labs and product overviews.
Users' Group Meeting
The Client Symposium will also include a meeting of the official IBS Users' Group. "The Users' Group enables users to maximize the power and functionality of IBS software by interacting with each other in a forum that is supported and backed by International Business Systems," said Kevin Beresford, IBS executive vice president.
