HOW YOU CAN BENEFIT FROM USING THE CASH FLOW MANAGER

IBS PlannerView software provides a graphical user interface for planning, forecasting, simulation and information management in many business operational areas. The module includes pre-defined applications referred to as roles, which allow you to work with your system information. One of the Financial Management roles is the Cash Flow Manager, which is designed to let you work with the cash flow forecast of a company or company group.

CASH FLOW INFORMATION BASIS

The Cash Flow Manager role gives you a complete overview of your company's cash flow forecast in a true multi-company environment. This means you can view an aggregated forecast for your company group and drill down to see forecast details on an individual company basis.

The cash flow forecast can be based on actual due dates or on the debtor's previous payment behavior, as well as on how you previously paid your suppliers. The forecast can be presented in system and reporting currency, in addition to transaction currency.

The solution lets you retrieve information about expected payments from IBS Enterprise, as well as from different database environments.

CASH FLOW MANAGER ACTIONS

The Cash Flow Manager role provides you with many possibilities for working with a cash flow forecast.

Starting value – The actual opening balance for your cash and bank accounts is included as a starting value for the cash flow forecast.

Expected payments – Information about expected incoming and outgoing payments is presented in a calendar view, summarized per projected payment date on a monthly, weekly and daily level.

Sales orders, customer invoices and open payments, purchase orders and supplier invoices, and open payments are collected automatically from IBS Enterprise. This will save you time and also make the cash flow forecast more reliable with less risk for errors due to re-keying data.

You can also add expected payments that might not be found within IBS Enterprise, such as upcoming payrolls, loan installment payments, tax information and other recurring cash expenses. This gives you complete visibility of your company's cash flow forecast in the same calendar view.

Even if cash flow forecasting is normally performed on a high level, getting a quick look at the underlying details might help you to judge the reliability of the expected payments. With the Cash Flow Manager role, it's possible to drill down to view the underlying details of expected payments, such as individual sales orders, A/R or A/P transactions and purchase orders.

Optionally, you can let the forecast present expected payments for open sales and purchase orders, A/R or A/P documents based on due dates or adjusted based on the previous payment behavior of a business partner. This means, for example, if your customer usually pays two days late, the forecast will reflect that; or, if you normally take advantage of favorable cash discounts, the forecast will make sure you reserve the money in advance of the indicated due date.

Forecasting and analysis – You can analyze the cash flow forecast on a monthly, weekly and daily level in transaction, system or reporting currency. System and reporting currency are also revaluated and presented in actual exchange rates.

The application can also show you an aggregated forecast for several companies in the same calendar view.

The Cash Flow Manager role can also help you predict payment behavior. You can analyze, for example, how the previous payment behavior of a business partner has changed or evolved. Or you can find patterns in how your customers have made payments to you or in how you have paid your suppliers.
